| RALPH R. RIOS, ESQ. Ralph R. Rios has been devoted to criminal trial work since 1979. He is the Senior Trial Attorney at Rios & King. Mr. Rios began his legal career as a Los Angeles County Public Defender. While defending the indigent, he handled thousands of criminal cases dealing with everything from DUI charges to Murder. He has served as a Judge Pro Tem and most recently was hired and qualified as an expert criminal attorney on a case resulting in a multi-million dollar verdict against the County of Los Angeles. Mr. Rios has a Masters degree in Criminology from the University of California at Berkeley. He earned his law degree from the University of Southern California School of Law. There, he gained valuable courtroom experience and knowledge working closely with Judges and jurors throughout 100's of trials. These trials included complex litigation, civil rights, and personal injury cases. Mr. Rios took this knowledge and experience and applied it to both the civil and criminal arenas. In Civil litigation, Mr. Rios worked on and assisted in numerous multi-million dollar settlements and trials. Including a 20-million dollar verdict against Southern California Edison, a 52-million dollar verdict against Continental Tire, a class-action settlement against the County of Los Angeles for the abuse of jail inmates, a 2. 6 million dollar wrongful death settlement against the City of Los Angeles LAPD, and several police brutality cases and multi-million dollar settlements involving pedestrian vs. tractor-trailer accidents and products liability cases. Mr. Rios has worked on numerous criminal appeals and cases ranging from murder and drug cases to DUI defense. Ralph M. Upon completion, Stephen entered the University of La Verne School of Law. While in law school, Stephen concentrated his efforts on trial advocacy and excelled as a member of Trial Advocacy Program. In that capacity, Stephen earned top recognition and served with distinction in national trial competitions. Stephen also received honors for his achievements in the Appellate Moot Court Program, while competing on the University of La Verne Law School National Team. Mr. King is a former Los Angeles County Public Defender. While at the public defender's office Stephen became a highly regarded trial attorney, handling criminal cases on a variety of matters.
